May 17 - In Person behind the Alano Club
Several District 4 service positions still need to be filled. Currently, the following positions are still up for grabs. Service at the District level is a great way to give back.
Grapevine Chair (DCC) - manages District 4's AA Grapevine subscriptions. See the grapevine statement or purpose, and check out this pamphlet for more information.
" The AA Grapevine is the international journal of Alcoholics Anonymous. Written, edited, illustrated, and read by AA members and others interested in the AA program of recovery from alcoholism, the Grapevine is a lifeline linking one alcoholic to another"

Archives Chair (DCC) - Manages District 4's archives. Did you know that District 4 has a collection of speaker tapes? How wonderful! there is a problem though, they are currently only on cassette, AHHHH! Some of our younger members may have never even held one of those. The last Archives Chair had a motion passed to receive funding for equipment to facilitate the change from analog to digital format. This would be a very fulfilling opportunity for the next person to take up this position. It could be you!
" I was nervous when I raised my hand to fill this seat. I was only 2 months sober, but I had heard that 'service will save your life'. To be honest, I didn't do a whole lot, but I showed up to district meetings, and even though I wasn't sure what was going on I began learning. I also began to feel like I was part of something bigger than my homegroup and of course bigger than me. I learned to be accountable to our fellowship, and my recovery has grown exponentially over the past two years of serving in our district."
-From Elizabeth, your faithful friend in service-
Public Information Chair (DCC) - You will be linked to the Public Information Committee at the area level where you can learn more. You would represent district four in matters concerning how we reach the public (i.e. social media issues)
" The purpose of the public information committee is to carry the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers. Utilizing literature and service material available on the A.A. World Services Website and working together, the members of the committee convey information to the general public, schools, students, and media professionals. Questions pertaining to the anonymity of AA members at the public level, what AA does and does not do, and how we can be found are our prime focus. "

**For more information on any of these positions, you can please reach out to any District Committee member, especially our DCM. All contact information is available on our contact page. We want to hear from anyone with questions about anything AA and Service related.
Check out these great opportunities to be involved in service, join us at our next district meeting to see what it's all about. Use the Zoom Id and password above, or meet us in person behind the Alano club. Dates, times, and meeting places are posted at the top of this page.
